Vanessa Goodall, MA in Human Security and Peacebuilding
Supervised by Dr. Doug West, Vanessa Goodall conducted a study of the impact of long-term international food aid programs in India. This research project focused upon the relationship between the World Food Programme and the Government of India, with the intention of generating a stronger understanding of the political and economic impacts of foreign food aid programs upon a government’s national food security investment.
The results of this study generated insight into the role that food aid programmes can have as capacity builders within national food security strategies. The outcomes of this research will be drawn into a policy prescription for the Canadian Government with the intention of outlining means in which to increase Canada’s aid effectiveness.
