Kenrick Sproul, MBA

Looking for change

I’m with the Ontario Alcohol and Gaming Commission as a liquor inspector. I left the military to spend more time with my family, but continue to serve with the reserves.

My current job is more of a stop-gap and I’m looking for a job change. I’m hoping that the MBA will provide a launching pad for a move into a new career, or profession.

The opportunity to sit down with an instructor was a huge selling factor for this program. It put RRU above all the other online MBA programs I was looking at. So far, the management consulting stream suits me. It will hopefully allow me to make effective use of skills that I have developed while pushing me to develop new ones. I’m really excited about it.

When I first came to RRU the discussion model seemed a little suspect, but when I heard the quality of the interaction, the stimulating conversations between instructors and students, my head was ready to explode.
There were so many different perspectives. Invaluable points of view.

Through sharing the struggle of working toward deadlines, I am developing a bond with my team and cohort. I find they value my input. The experience allows you to grow and you walk out somewhat changed.

The setting is phenomenal, even having the peacocks who holler in the morning. I applaud the university’s green approach to running this campus.

It’s great that RRU embraces technological change. I heard the president talking about transmitting information via Blackberries. That’ll be great!
