Dana Robinson, MA Professional Communication specializing in Intercultural and International Communication
J. Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship Master’s, Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada
Dana employed meta-synthesis to highlight the communication issues that occur when Transnational corporations (TNC) expand into emerging markets. She identified the positive and negative effects that both TNCs and host nations face during expansion and discussed how the ineffective communication practices of both parties could be partially or wholly eradicated if communication best practices and theory were consulted. Dana synthesized the proposed solutions noted in six case studies chronicling specific TNCs in emerging nations in an attempt to determine how communication theory and best practice can assist in the resolution of these common problems.
