The Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Tourism builds both your professional credentials and reputation. It was designed with input from tourism leaders to strengthen and expand personal leadership skills, knowledge and abilities. Our comprehensive curriculum and excellent instructors ensure students gain applied knowledge in tourism leadership, global tourism and tourism delivery systems. Graduates emerge with a greater understanding of this complex industry, the contributions of our industry leaders, and how they may excel within their career and their sector of the tourism industry.
Graduates depart with a broad range of technical, interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills in tourism leadership. By the end of the program, students have competencies in five core areas: communications, knowledge, leadership and teamwork, critical thinking and global awareness. Specifically, they have:
- Critically engaged with current leadership and tourism theory, practice and processes;
- Increased your knowledge in tourism leadership, delivery systems, and of industry leaders; and
- Selected, analyzed and explored leadership concepts and skills and applied them to opportunities and challenges faced by leaders at individual, organizational, community and industry levels.
