A prominent feature of the Robert Bateman Centre at Royal Roads University is the gently curving path that leads to its entrance. Designed by architect Richard Iredale, its intent is to create an entry experience in which visitors find themselves walking away from busy thoughts of day-to-day life to a place where they find a receptive and thoughtful state of mind.

Constructed of brick pavers, the walkway has been dubbed the Legacy Path and this month the university announced that individual stones inscribed with personal messages are available for purchase.

“Whether you studied here, work here or play here, purchasing a brick is an ideal way to be permanently connected to this very special place,” says Julie Barlow, development and communications coordinator at the university.
