The MA in Interdisciplinary Studies is an independent, interdisciplinary program which responds to the needs of professionals in a changing workplace. The program provides students with an opportunity to pursue an innovative course of study and research applied to a specific career interest. Students bridge Royal Roads University’s graduate programs by proposing an interdisciplinary course of study that draws from two or more programs offered by the Faculty of Social and Applied Sciences, the Faculty of Management and the Centre for Applied Leadership. Students choose between a course-based, major project, or thesis path; they may complete one on-campus residency or complete the degree online.  Laddering options exist for graduate certificates.

Who it’s for
Those qualified applicants whose educational and professional goals are best met by a specialized individual program that integrates offerings from more than one existing program. The program is intended to allow working professionals to remain employed while completing a graduate degree customized to their particular professional circumstances and career needs.

Applicants who do not have the formal academic education to qualify for admission may be assessed on the basis of both their formal education and their informal learning, in accordance with the Flexible Admission Policy.
