The Graduate Certificate in Professional Communication Management program provides communication professionals with the strategic skills and tactical understanding to participate at the executive management table.

The Graduate Certificate in Professional Communication Management is endorsed by the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) as support to professionals in the Society’s Accreditation program.

Upon successful completion, graduates can apply for advanced standing in Royal Roads University’s MBA program. A portion of the MBA tuition fee is waived.

Who it’s for
Senior managers, managers and other individuals directly responsible for organizational communications and who need to determine whether to outsource communications, develop in-house capabilities or handle public relations functions.

Applicants who do not have the formal academic education to qualify for admission may be assessed on the basis of both their formal education and their informal learning, in accordance with the Flexible Admission Policy.

Outcomes
Graduates understand the framework and supporting theory of how to deal with dilemmas and decisions facing senior communications managers.

Additionally, graduates gain knowledge of how to develop a strategic communication plan; articulate the ROI (return on investment) of public relations and communications; create a stakeholder relations framework and deliver a high level of support in this area; and develop the structure and processes needed to deal with crisis situations.
