Sherry Sibio - MA in Tourism Management

In my role as owner of Achievers World Wide, a global training and development organization specializing in customized client acquisition and retention programs focusing on hospitality and tourism, it was important to find a university that had an excellent reputation for academics while providing the flexibility to allow me to learn while running a successful business.

I was attracted to the people at Royal Roads University who would help to bring my experience to life. As Director of the School of Tourism Hospitality Management, the accomplished Dr. Brian White in concert with his excellent reputation within the industry was the first reason I became interested in Royal Roads. When investigating the university, both staff and the students that came before me were supportive and accommodating in the sharing of information and experiences. Assistant Professor Geoff  Bird's tourism experience, his motivating and experiential teaching methods that are delivered with patience, compassion and humility, helped me to feel that I made the right decision to return to the classroom at the right time. Additionally, delivery of the integrated learning format that Royal Roads provides has proven to be tremendously engaging and beneficial.

Ultimately the decision to choose Royal Roads University came down to the people who are bringing the university experience to life and are focused on helping me succeed. Their support has assisted in reducing any anxieties I had about trying to balance work/life and learning. The people at Royal Roads are what has made the difference and what has enriched my learning experience.
