RRU Launches Management Certificate Programs, Offers Customized Programs for Organizations
For immediate release – Sept. 10, 2007
Victoria, B.C. – Royal Roads University is launching three new management certificate programs this fall and is offering to customize programs for organizations – with delivery in or outside Victoria.
The three levels of non-credit management certificate programs are designed for front-line supervisors, middle managers and senior managers. Professors from the RRU Faculty of Management and instructors from across Canada are leading the courses at RRU’s campus in Victoria.
The flexible programs can fit into any busy schedule and are designed for completion within one year, although students can take up to two years to complete their individualized programs.
“Our management programs are aimed to fit flexibly with busy work and life schedules,” says Hilary Leighton, director of the RRU Continuing Studies department, which is offering the new programs. “We recognize that in contemporary workplaces, one size does not fit all, therefore, we can customize certificates to include relevant skill-building that correspond to the individual’s needs.”
Going into its second year, the RRU Continuing Studies calendar includes more than 200 non-credit courses in professional advancement, personal enrichment, the arts and a series called Green Learning that focuses on environmental issues. Organizations can arrange with the department to have a course or series of courses delivered either at the university’s campus or at the organization’s location, even if it is outside Greater Victoria.
“We can design and deliver programming on topics that most closely align with an organization`s professional development needs and growth – topics such as leadership, performance, and strategic thinking and planning,” said Leighton.
Other new offerings this year include online courses in essay and technical writing, editing, APA style and accounting.
