RRU First to Receive International Designation
Victoria, B.C. - Royal Roads University is the first B.C. post-secondary educational institution to receive the internationally recognized Education Quality Assurance designation confirming RRU as a preferred destination institution for international students.
The Education Quality Assurance (EQA) designation is British Columbia's - and Canada's - first education brand or seal of quality. The EQA trademark will be used around the world to promote high-quality, reputable B.C. post-secondary institutions. It will be a standard trademark recognizable worldwide, and will reduce confusion caused by various quality assurance processes.
The EQA is a voluntary designation available to public and private post-secondary institutions that wish to apply. Eligibility is based on an institution having met government-recognized quality assurance standards, and on being in good standing with both the Ministry of Advanced Education and Labour Market Development and the applicable quality assurance bodies.
"We've always had a very strong international presence at Royal Roads," said Cyndi McLeod, vice president marketing, recruitment and business development at RRU. "This designation confirms that we provide students with a high calibre learning experience. It will no doubt serve to validate our strong reputation as one of the province's leading educational institutions."
