Bateman workshop Dec. 10 explores rarely seen sketchbooks and travelogues

Back by popular demand, artist Robert Bateman will explore his personal sketchbooks from his world travels. As a young naturalist, Bateman's sketchbooks were a map of his observation of the natural world and this creative process continued throughout his life. From unusual bugs to botany and culture, his personal sketchbooks include drawings of hundreds of birds and animals, even celebrities. These armchair explorations reflect on the inspiration the natural world has had on one of Canada's most treasured artists. More on the Bateman Sketchbooks...

RRU professor to explore spirituality and mysticism in presentation

Maggi Feehan teaches in Royal Roads University's Master's in Leadership and in the School of Communication and Culture. She is also a widely-published writer whose first novel Serpent's Veil was published earlier this year by Thistledown Press. The novel explores how spirituality intersects with the lives of two protagonists. Feehan travelled throughout India, England, and Ireland to research the novel and gathered information and inspiration from her visits to the Spiritual Association of Great Britain, the College of Psychic Studies, Guy's Hospital, and several prominent London museums and galleries. On Thursday, Dec. 10 from 12:15 to 12:45 on the Quarterdeck of the Grant Building Feehan will give a talk Royal Roads on her book. More on Serpent's Veil...
