Cocksedge joined the Centre for Non-Timber Resources at Royal Roads, now the Centre for Livelihoods and Ecology, in 2004. Since then she has focused her research on resource management, NTFP inventories, sustainable harvests, policy development and capacity building among First Nations and non-First Nation communities in British Columbia.
She is also involved in integrating traditional First Nations knowledge into policy development and resource management. Prior to coming to Royal Roads, Wendy worked with the founding director of the Centre, Darcy Mitchell, consulting on the biology and socio-economic impacts of this growing sector of the economy.
