She came to RRU in 1999 and took the helm of the Learning and Technology program when it was created in 2006. Blanchette designed this new program to address the specific needs of teachers and instructors working within technology-mediated environments, and the leaders responsible for planning and administering such programs.
Her research interests address issues of technology in education and include examining the changing role of both the instructor and the learner; identifying the skills necessary for success in this environment; and the psychological and socio-cultural impact of technology in the educational context. She has a particular interest in the process of online graduate supervision.
