Fred Oster joined Royal Roads University in 2003 as a member of the core faculty and as director of the master of arts in conflict analysis and management program. For 12 years prior he was at the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Commerce, where he was in the faculty industrial relations and organizational behaviour. He was also the director of the business advisory services and an active member of the University of Saskatchewan’s innovative conflict management group.
For more than two decades Oster has taught, researched, trained and consulted for organizations. His research focus explores collaboration and conflict between organizations in strategic alliances and how human resource managers operate within business organizations. Oster earned a master’s degree in political science at Kansas State University and a PhD in adult learning and industrial relations from Michigan State University.
