Erich Schellhammer earned a law degree from Baden-Württemberg in Germany and his master’s and PhD in philosophy at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. He joined Royal Roads University in 2002, leading and developing the undergraduate justice studies program within the School of Peace and Conflict Management.
From 1989 until 2002, Schellhammer taught in the School of Human Justice at the University of Regina.
Schellhammer’s research focus is First Nations and Metis issues in Saskatchewan, specifically in matters of self-government where he organized an aboriginal-German youth exchange. Aside from his academic writing he has had book reviews published in The Review of Metaphysics. He is often asked to speak on First Nations governance issues in Europe and North America.
