Chris Duff earned a B.Sc.and an MBA in England in the 1970s. Duff was a chartered accountant with KPMG and worked in the British chemical sector before joining BICC Plc, a UK-based multinational corporation active in both manufacturing and construction.
Duff held a variety of positions with BICC PLC (now Balfour Beatty PLC) ranging from Corporate Investment Analyst to a divisional VP Finance. He and his family came to Canada in the 1980s and since then Duff has worked with companies from across Canada in the area of corporate finance and accounting.
Associated with Royal Roads University since 1997, Duff joined the core faculty in 1999. He was director of the Bachelor of Commerce program until the spring of 2006 when he left that role to pursue his PhD. He continues to teach and is credited with developing the Faculty of Management’s accounting and finance courses. He teaches at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
His research interests are focused on the development and usage of cost management techniques in the health care sector. He recently conducted research on the work of the Fraser Health Authority as part of his PhD program of research.
