BCom Class of 2001-2002 Award
The BCom class of 2001-2002 Award will be made available to a Royal Roads University undergraduate commerce student who has best exemplified the skill of leadership in the classroom.

Beth and Bill Vance Bursary
Shauna Jones is an Royal Roads University alumni and the proprietor of People Performance Power Corporate and Personal Consulting Group. Shauna offers an annual bursary in the name of Beth and Bill Vance – two people who supported her through her two years at RRU. The bursary is $5,000 for one individual who requires further education to develop his or her career and would not be able to complete his or her studies without this bursary.

The concept of this bursary springs from a desire to facilitate the growth of individuals who are fully engaged in and passionate about their life’s work. The donors believe that when people are self-aware and feel responsible for their choices, they are vibrant and powerful contributors in their occupations, within their communities and in the world at large. Shauna wants to pass on to others the assistance and inspiration that has been given to her.

Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) Victoria - Helen Joy Russell Bursary #1
Working together for women and girls, the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) is a voluntary, non profit, self-funded bilingual organization of close to 10,000 women university graduates. Helen Joy Russell chose to leave the Victoria branch of CFUW a generous portion of her estate for the purpose of continuing its philanthropic work of providing financial aid to deserving women students through bursaries and scholarships. In January 2008, CFUW Victoria established in her name an endowed bursary for MA Human Security and Peacebuilding students, to reflect Joy’s lifelong interest in politics and concerns about world affairs.

Cassandra and Carla Sims Award
This award has been established through the generosity of the Sims Family. One award will be made available to a student at Royal Roads University who has demonstrated entrepreneurial skills in the not-for-profit sector or fundraising. Preference will be given to a student who exemplifies interests in sports, community involvement, world cultures and languages.

Charter Commerce Class of ’97 Award
The award will be made available, at a value commensurate with the interest earned on the endowment, to an Royal Roads University undergraduate commerce student who has completed the second quarter and has best exemplified team-building skills.

Chartered Accountants of BC Education Foundation Scholarship
Awarded to an accounting (BCom) student completing the third year of the degree program, maintaining at least a B average in accounting courses over the previous two semesters and expressing intention to enter the CA program.

Chawkers Foundation Award for Environmental Studies
This award has been made available through the generous donation of the Chawkers Foundation. The Foundation's principal funding interests are education and environmental projects and programs. Preference for this award will be given to a MA in Environmental Management program student who demonstrates financial need and who is or was involved with non-governmental organizations committed to the environment.

Credit Union Foundation of British Columbia Bursary
An award of $1000 annually is offered from the Credit Union Pioneers Memorial on behalf of credit union members in British Columbia and in memory of the credit union pioneers. The award is to be offered to an undergraduate student who might otherwise have difficulty completing their studies by reason of financial hardship. Recipients are to be Canadians residing in British Columbia and in attendance at Royal Roads University.

Daniel James Frazer Entrance Bursary
[odd years only e.g. '09, '11]
To one applicant two years in a row - First disbursement prior to start of first residency; second disbursement on successful continuation in program and prior to second residency.

Royal Roads University faculty member Dr. Ann Dale and her family established this bursary in the memory of their beloved Daniel James Frazer. One bursary is available to a new Royal Roads University student with preference to applicants entering the MA in Environmental Management program involved with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) committed to the environment and social justice issues. Royal Roads University is grateful to Daniel's legacy. In his memory Dr. Dale writes:

"Some people when they are on the earth occupy only the space of a tree, but when they leave, they leave the space of a forest. May his compassion, integrity, courage and gentleness continue to touch us and inspire us to make a difference, to create a world where all creatures can enjoy life."

Graham Dickson Leadership and Learning Award

The Graham Dickson Leadership and Learning Award, initiated by the staff in the Centre for Applied Leadership and Management (CALM), will support sustainability initiatives and honour Dr. Graham Dickson who has made significant contributions at Royal Roads University in the field of leadership. The award will benefit CALM students who demonstrate social responsibility and community leadership. For many students with professional and academic aspirations, this financial award will help suppport the realization of their full leadership potential. Donations are accepted from alumni and other friends of CALM who may also wish to contribute to this award.

McLean Foundation Award for Environmental Studies
The McLean Foundation's principal funding interests are educational and environmental projects and programs. Preference for these awards will be given to the student in the MA in Environmental Management program involved with non-governmental agencies committed to the environment and who demonstrates financial need.

Royal Roads Student Association Bursary

These bursaries have been made possible by the generous annual contributions from undergraduate students at Royal Roads University which are matched by the university. The bursaries will be available annually to individuals entering one of the undergraduate programs who have made a significant contribution to the community.

Tournament of Aces Bursaries
Royal Roads University Foundation started the Tournament of Aces golf event in 2000 to raise funds for bursaries. We thank the many sponsors of this event for their participation in raising much needed educational bursaries for single parents. The endowed Tournament of Aces fund now generates revenue for annual bursaries in perpetuity. Applicant selection for this bursary is based on financial need and must be full time in any graduate or undergraduate program.
