Course Description:
PCOM 530: Focuses on gathering, analyzing, and presenting information in an online context. This course is designed to explore issues related to presenting information on-line; introduce design principles for the content/format/layout of on-line information; emphasize creative and critical thinking in the design process; and provide learners with the theory and operational skills necessary for developing and publishing a technological environment. Topics covered will include an introduction to the use of HTML and Web page construction, the use of databases and electronic searches in public and commercial sources (including libraries, government agencies, institutions, and associations), as well as the ethical, legal, and social impact of network use on individual and social life.
