Disaster and Emergency Management in Practice
Course Description:
DEMN 510: This course provides its students with an interdisciplinary overview of leading emergency, disaster, crisis, and risk management practices and applications. The focus will generally be on the Canadian scene, but where applicable, references will be made to related approaches in the U.S. and in other countries. The course is divided into four distinct, yet interrelated modules, designed to be delivered in tandem with DEMN 500 (the Theory of Disaster and Emergency Management). DEMN 510 focuses on the practical application of disaster and emergency management principles, models, and techniques. (3 credits)
