RRU Campus Progress

Robert Bateman Centre

The Royal Roads University campus is known as an evolved cultural landscape – that is, a place that combines the work of nature with the work of humankind.

As the stewards of a national historic site, the university has worked to carefully preserve and restore heritage elements of the campus. Now the time has come for the university to add to the legacy of previous occupants of this site with the construction of two new buildings:

The Learning and Innovation Centre – an academic building, and:

The Bateman Centre

Both buildings will respect the distinctive features of the campus as an evolved cultural landscape and will showcase leading sustainability principles and practices. Both will reflect Robert Bateman’s description of Royal Roads University as:

“A place of beauty and respect – respect not only for the past but for the future.”
