English Language Requirements
English is the primary language of instruction and communications in all domestic programs. All candidates must possess an adequate knowledge of written and spoken English as a prerequisite of admission.
Applicants to programs that are delivered in English, and whose first language is not English, must submit an official score report of English proficiency that meets the requirements below (or an approved program-specific admission requirement, if different):
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): TOEFL PBT (paper-based) score of 570 or higher; TOEFL iBT (Internet-based) minimum score of 20 in each section for an overall score of 88 or better. (Institution Code: 9054)
- International English Language Testing Services (IELTS): 6.5 overall with no individual item score less than 6.0.
Evidence of English competence through other means, as determined by the Admissions Office, in consultation with the program concerned, will be considered on an individual basis.
Some programs may require additional or alternative verification of English competence.
For Doctorate level programs please see program specific admission requirements.
